Do you have breakfast at 7am and then feel hungry again at 10am? So, you take a quick bite and then back to work and before you know it, it is lunch time. You head out to the nearest cafe and have your lunch before you are back to the office again and continue working. Soon, it was 3pm and you are feeling hungry again, so you munch on any snack you can get hold of. After work, you might head back home for dinner or you dine outside. Is this your daily routine? Are you feeling like you’re putting on weight day by day? The problem here is you need to check what kind of snack you are having during the intervals of each meal. For example, you might eat biscuits at 10am, then at 3pm you might be eating chips or bread.

Actually, eating too much in a day is very bad. You gain additional pounds and you are not healthier. So, the best is to drink water whenever you are feeling hungry. Water is powerful in curbing hunger in between meals. So let say it is almost lunch time and you want to take a bite then hold yourself, and instead of eating, drink a glass of plain water. Then, you will feel full until it is lunch time, and you are safe to go out to eat. The same goes in the evening. If you are feeling hungry again at 3pm, drink another glass of plain water. If you are the type who can never resist munching, go for something light and healthier. Eat fruit or wholemeal crackers. These are much better compared to biscuits and bread or potato chips.

Ephedra is a traditional medicine proven to have the property of increasing the rate of metabolism in the body, thus the ability to assist in weight loss. Although it was discovered 5000 years ago by the Chinese, the weight loss property was unknown until just recently, when the scientists had been researching Ephedra. Since then, the market is blooming with all kinds of weight loss products around every corner. Traditionally, Ephedra was used by the Chinese to treat flu and cold symptoms as it helps to clear the air passages to the lungs. It is also used to treat edema (swelling caused by fluid retention). Ephedra can help to promote urination for edema patients.

With so many diet pills on the market, such as Hot Body Ephedra and Black Asia, one is having a tough time in deciding the best diet pills to consume. Of course all diet pills are promoting their weight loss ability, thus making it so difficult to know which is real and which is fake. However, it is very important to look out for the Ephedra doses in each of the products. Some may have higher doses compared to others. Normally the average dose for Ephedra is between 20 - 25 mg. So beware when you are buying Ephedra related products to avoid ones with the lesser amounts of Ephedra.

Ephedra is a stimulant and also has thermogenic properties. The ephedrine and pseudoephedrine content are very powerful in stimulating the brain and increasing the rate of the heart beat. It is known as Ma Huang in Chinese. The Chinese were the first to discover Ephedra about 5000 years ago, and since then it has been a traditional medicine. Traditionally, it is used to treat cold and flu as it helps to clear the air passages to the lungs.

Now, Ephedra is being used in most of the weight loss products. This is due to the discovery of Ephedra’s ability in increasing the metabolism rate in the body. Metabolism rate increase in the body will also increase the heat of the body, so it is able to burn down the fats. Some athletes, especially body builders, are using Ephedra to boost their performance in sporting events. This is because they need lean muscle and to get rid of the fat.

Examples of weight loss products include the Yellow Bullet with ephedra and Pure Ephedra. These products contain at least 20mg of Ephedra in each pill. People who consume products with Ephedra must be cautious (as noted in the FDA regulation) as not everyone is suitable to consume Ephedra related products, especially people with medical problems. But once you’re clear, they are a great product to help aid fat loss in the body!

To lose weight is a very difficult and challenging task. Only with strong determination and persistence in exercise and diet, can you lose weight. However, modern technology has enabled us to lose weight the easy way. With a breakthrough in recognising the chemical properties that can help to lose weight, we have seen the production of many weight loss products including diet pills, slimming tablets and even slimming tea.

Thermogenesis diet pills help to lose weight by producing heat in the body through your own metabolism to burn down the fats stored in the tummy area, arms and thighs. These are the most targeted areas of the body, as fats tend to store in these areas. Metabolism will increase the core heat and at the same time burn down the fats and you lose weight.

The hydroxyslim pills also enable your body to increase its metabolism to help break down the fats in all the areas such as tummy, arms and even thighs. The key is to increase the metabolism rate in the body and hydroxyslim is made with the properties that can help to boost the metabolism rate. Metabolism happens all the time in our body and we just need to give it a kick to make it work faster.

Tips For Dieting

Chances are, most of us will feel the need to diet at some point in our lives. Whether it’s for a special event (a wedding or vacation), because our doctors recommend it, or because we just want to look or feel better and healthier, dieting occasionally or frequently is a priority.

Dieting is a huge industry in the U.S., probably because there’s no definitive answers as to what works best. The tried and true method of eating less and exercising more just seems to take too long in our quick-results-obsessed culture.

But following trendy diets, like high-protein/low or no carb diets, diets that have you drinking shakes, or the prepackaged food diets, isn’t your best bet. These types of diets are usually unrealistic to maintain long-term. Restricting your diet to just a few foods, cutting out entire food groups, or eating too few calories may help you lose weight in the short term, but will also help you pack on the pounds in the long term. The reason is that your body will start to slow its metabolism down while you’re dieting.

You’ve probably heard it before and you may want to roll your eyes, but you really shouldn’t look at eating health as a diet. It implies that it will be temporary and you will revert to old habits once you take the weight off. What good will that do? If you don’t stick to it, the weight will inevitably pile back on. So call it a lifestyle change or just new eating habits.

Finally, it’s okay to start with small changes. If you try to change everything at once, you’re really setting yourself up or failure. Trying making one small change a week or month. Keep making changes, track your progress, and by the end of a month or year, you should see some results.

Have patience with your eating habits. You didn’t develop eating problems overnight, so you’re not going to magically solve them overnight, either. Keep at it!

Having a background in psychology and counseling, combined with a lifelong interest in diet and fitness, I’m well aware of some of the positive mental side effects from exercise. Exercise helps to naturally boost one’s spirits and energy levels, acting as a natural antidepressant for some people.

Exercise, in moderation, also helps curb appetite, increases sex drive, and helps people to sleep more restfully at night. Now even more good news about exercise has been discovered.

According to a recent study summarized by CNN, exercise may help deter or prevent addictions to substances and chemicals such as illegal drugs and alcohol. According to the chief of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), a previous study found that teens and tweens who exercise regularly were far less likely to smoke cigarettes (50% less chance) or abuse marijuana (40% less chance).

The NIDA chief believes this is because children are born knowing, instinctively, that it feels good to move. But in a society of increasing obesity (Obesity in children has TRIPLED in the U.S. since 1980), kids are becoming more and more sedentary, leaving fewer opportunities to feel good naturally.

Now the NIDA chief, Dr. Nora Volkow, hopes to see more research on the area of exercise and drug abuse. $4 million in new research grants are being made available from NIDA for this specific purpose. Hopefully we’ll continue to hear good news about this in the future!

When I first heard about sleep’s effects on weight control, I thought, “Ah! Now it makes sense!” The “it” I was thinking of was the fact that so many of us gain weight after high school. Though we feel busier than ever with school, work, and family commitments, our metabolism and the positive effects from exercise seem to slow down.

Of course, there’s plenty of other reasons why we gain weight. One sad fact is that most of us do not keep up the level of physical activity we had while in school. We have different responsibilities once we’re adults and it seems like something has to give; oftentimes, that’s exercise and/or healthy eating.

As we get older and perhaps add a spouse and/or children to our lives, we have even less time. That’s where most people start to cut back on sleep. Staying up too late, getting up too early, always feeling tired and in need of caffeine or some sort of boost… it’s just a bad cycle to get into.

So when I heard that sleep, or rather lack of sleep, could be contributing to our nation’s obesity epidemic, it just made sense. I wasn’t sure how exactly, but there definitely seemed to be a natural connection in my mind.

As it turns out, those people who get less than four hours of sleep per night are 70% more likely to be obese than people who get seven to nine hours. This is a really good thing to keep in mind for anyone trying to get in shape or stay in shape! Get your sleep! Since we all want more sleep anyway, isn’t it nice to have a really good reason to get it?

A few years back, a documentary was made called “Supersize Me”, in which the documentary-maker dined on nothing but McDonald’s for something like 30 days. It got a lot of press attention because, well, it was pretty horrifying.

Everyone I know who watched it swore off fast food altogether… for at least a couple days. Seriously, the stuff is dangerously addicting.

At any rate, it really called attention to the fact that America’s super portions of food are getting out of control. Not just food, but drink, too! Just how big is a Super Big Gulp, anyway?

It’s time to get re-familiarized with proper portions of food. It may take awhile to feel comfortable with these portions as your stomach and body readjust, but you will both (you and your body) be thankful for it in the end.

Let’s start with meat. A good portion of meat is about 3 or 4 ounces, or about the size of a deck of cards. You can also buy a small kitchen scale and start weighing everything and measuring according to serving size. Over time, you’ll be able to eyeball how much of something you can eat, fairly accurately.

It’s also a great idea to look at your plates. As our food portion sizes have grown larger, so have our plates and bowls! Start serving foods on smaller plates or even pitch (as in donate or sell) the old dishware and buy smaller versions.
